My original set had two rulers, so I was happy when I received the new set with three rulers, which includes the 3/4" and 1" measurements.
I've been familiar with Perfect Layers for some time, as I purchased my first set when I was a demonstrator for a well-known stamp company. If you are like me, space is an issue, so I like the fact that they are not bulky, and they fit very nicely along the side of a drawer. Once you decide how much of a border you would like, it doesn’t take any time to trim. My knife glides along the side of the tool so smoothly. The tool is very easy to use with a craft mat and craft knife. The tool still works perfectly fine with thinner paper however you need to be careful when holding the tool, it can shift and you may have to make another cut to even things up. In practicing with different types of paper I found that the heavier paper is much easier to grab the image lip to layer than thinner paper. The directions are very easy to follow, and I completely understood right away. I was a bit intimidated at first, it didn’t make sense to me in just looking at the tool. Perfect Layers are clear acrylic guides with little edges on each side to catch the edge of your image or sentiment layer for cutting.
